Product Description

The milwaukee 0779 28 Volt 1/2 in. Impact Wrench delivers 325 ft. lbs. of maximum torque, the most of any cordless impact wrench. Powering the 0779 is the revolutionary 28 Volt Lithium-Ion battery pack exclusively from milwaukee. Combining high torque with 1,450 rpm and 2,450 ipm, the 0779 provides the power, speed and run-time to drive larger lags, drill bigger holes, and remove larger nuts. The powerful milwaukee 28V motor makes breaking loose 'stuck' nuts a breeze. The heavy-duty magnesium mechanism housing provides extreme job-site durability. The 0779 comes equipped with comfortable non-slip, soft-grip surfaces that reduce vibration and fatigue. The forward/reverse shuttle is conveniently located above the variable speed switch for fast, easy access. Designed for heavy-duty use, whether driving large lag screws, anchors and bolts, drilling large holes, or removing lug nuts, the 0779 provides the power, comfort and run-time to finish the job. A heavy-duty steel ring (included) can be attached for convenient tethering when working high overhead or for raising/lowering the tool when working from a ladder or utility pole. With three operating modes the user can easily switch the tool from rotary hammer to rotation only (drill) to hammer only (chipping). The 0756 delivers 2.1 ft-lbs of impact energy and 4,700 blows per minute at up to 1,400 RPM for fast drilling and powerful chipping. The optimal drilling range in concrete is from 3/16 in. to 3/4 in. with a 1 in. solid bit capacity and 2-1/2 in. thin wall core bit capacity. The tool's compact L- shape design measures less than 11-1/8 in. grip to chuck for easy access to tight spaces. The softgrip handle with a two finger reversible trigger positions the user's hand directly behind the chuck for maximum comfort and control while also positioning the battery fuel gauge toward the user. The tool is available as a bare tool (0756-20) or as a kit (0756-22).

Customer Buzz
I was skeptical about buying this tool. A lot of money would be wasted if it didn't perform as advertised. I placed my trust in Milwaukee's reputation. When a negative reviewer has only one review to his credit - and that review is negative - that tells me that the reviewer is 100% negative and I disqualify his input from my decision making. When my 100psi impact wrench began failing to break free 15/16ths-inch cutting-blade nuts on a 1500-pound commercial mower, I knew more power was needed. Laying on my back under a raised cutting deck and pushing a 15-inch box-end wrench with a pipe extension with both feet and while pulling another such setup with both hands above the deck left me with an aching back for a month, but the 12-inch blade bolt and nut did come loose. Never again. After 8 months of use and a dozen blade changes, my worries have vanished. It takes about 15 seconds to break the nuts loose. The first time I used it - and the nut didn't break free in 3 seconds - my heart sank. Then it lifted. I was surprised that there is no reverse torque. I was expecting this wrench to kick like a mule after reading the break-dancing comment. One hand is all that is needed. I've removed lugs from trucks and cars and tractors. No problems. Another impressive fact is that I can remove 20 lugs on a vehicle and still have all four red power indicator lights burning on the battery. Granted, there are impact wrenches made for 18-wheelers and tanks that are rated in the thousands of foot-pounds of torque, but this 28V Milwaukee slid under the wire for me. It is about all the power I need. Every year I hear about a compressor exploding and causing injury or death. Perhaps condensation had accumulated inside the tank for years and rusted the walls. Compressor tanks do need to be drained. And fighting hoses can be like wrestling an anaconda. So far, my 28V impact wrench has not exploded, tripped or choked me. And it hasn't bitten me either because it does the job - and for me - that makes it worth the price.

I have most of the v28 line and love them. Well not this tool. This tool is a dog. I tried to remove lug nuts on a car. Too Bad. It just sits there hammering away and won't loosten them. So I take it back to an authorized dealer, since I think It's defective. They gave me a new tool. GREAT, I thought. The new tool did take off some lug nuts, sometimes. These are hand tightened torqued lug nuts at 120 Ft-lbs. and it can't spin them off. What? The torque rating is way overstated, If you want to use this on smaller bolts, maybe it would be a wise choice. But I would never recommend this tool to anyone. It's a pretty big tool, but big doesn't mean powerful! Be warned, it doesn't have the power it's stated to have!

I just bought this tool to use as a road service assist tool in my race car trailer. It was rated at over 200 ft.lbs. of torque which should have been more than adequate to remove lug nuts that were torqued on at 95 ft.lbs. Alas, the impact wrench just hammers away without breaking loose the lug nuts. I still need to use a breaker bar and loosen the initial torque manually. I have been using Milwaukee tools for 35 years and have very seldom been disappointed in one. This will still be a useful tool, I just wish the power would have been rated accurately.

I've had this tool for about 18 months ago. It has performed above expectations. On one battery it will remove 8 1/2 wheel lug bolts 4 5/8 gear box bolts and replace all on a center pivot sprinkler tower . Some of the towers we have worked on have been running in water for over 15 years without a bolt being turned(it would be the equivalent of changing four tires on a 3/4 ton pickup). It is a substantial tool but the weight packing it to the job is more than made up by the effort it saves at the job site. For quick jobs it is easier than dragging hoses and a air impact gun. It won't replace a good 1/2 drive air impact gun but it is a great addition to any tool box

Bought this impact wrench a few days ago and all I can say is its
very well made , but its a little too big and bulky to be used in
confind spaces but its great for lug nuts and old rusty bolts
that you can get to . The batteries on these units are by far the
best I have seen. long lasting and quick recharge time, and Its
hard to beat the 5 yr warrenty .

I got this tool to go along with my V28 combo kit. I was so happy with my other V28 tools I thought I would give this one a shot as well. I am not disappointed. This thing has as much power as my corded impact. It has been great for driving lags. The battery life is great as well. I have even been using it at home on my old fixer upper truck. It has been great for breaking loose lug nuts and rusted bolts on the under carriage. I LOVE IT!!!

Customer Buzz
With the battery Pack actually installed on the tool ,this tool has unbeatable POWER and ENDURANCE. I've mostly used the pneumatic variety, this has comparable power, but is portable, although big and heavy.I was laying under my truck loosening some rusted bolts, before I dug my heels in,I was Break Dancing -20 years too late! And as usual Great prices and service from Amazon.

After many years of satisfactory use of Milwaukee power tools.
I was sadly disappointed. I could not loosen bolts tightened to 150 ft lbs. Big price little power.
